The University of Miami/UHealth Department of SCCC has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Biostatistician 2 to work at the UHealth medical campus in Miami, Fl.

CORE JOB SUMMARY

The Biostatistician 2 provides advanced statistical support and implements new strategies and analysis options with project PIs. The Biostatistician 2 prepares written reports to document analytic activities and summarizing results and participates in the development and the testing of efficient protocols for the collection, verification, management, and analysis of large amounts of genotypic and phenotypic data. Further, the Biostatistician 2 serves as liaison between the more junior Biostatisticians of the department and the research community.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Finalizes analysis plans and writes detailed specifications for analysis of files, consistency checks, tables, and figures.
  2. Communicates with clients regarding statistical analysis issues.
  3. Prepares data, conducts statistical analysis, and summarizes results for large research projects.
  4. Interprets analyses and writes statistical sections of study reports.
  5. Prepares results for progress reports, presentations, and peer-reviewed publications.
  6. Maintains and documents studies’ databases.
  7. Consults with study investigators on planning and specifying statistical analysis.
  8. Provides support to resolve barriers to analysis and consults with other methodologists and statisticians.
  9. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Education: Master's degree in relevant field required Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Learning Agility: Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols, and adapt to changing priorities and work demands. Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment. Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications. Communication: Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders.
