WAYFINDER Our Wayfinder team is building scalable, certifiable autonomy systems to power the next generation of commercial aircraft. We are developing machine learning and core technologies for autonomous flight, creating a reference architecture encompassing hardware, software, and data-driven development processes to enable aircraft perception and reaction. The Opportunity/Role Description We seek a Data Engineer with expertise in managing and optimizing data pipelines, especially for AI/ML data and applications. The ideal candidate will design and implement data infrastructure, ensure high-quality labeled datasets, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support computer vision initiatives. Responsibilities Manage data releases, track data provenance, evaluate data quality, and report insights. Contribute to scalable data and labeling pipelines for computer vision projects. Manage and optimize data storage solutions for efficient retrieval and processing. Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues to minimize project disruptions. Collaborate with machine learning and data/infrastructure engineers to meet data requirements and ensure high-quality labeled datasets. Develop and maintain tools and processes for data labeling, including annotation workflows, quality control, and validation. Requirements Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Data Engineering, with 2+ years of relevant experience. Strong Python and SQL skills; solid software development fundamentals. Experience working with data pipelines as a Data Engineer. Proficiency in data modeling, ETL processes, data pipeline operations, OLAP databases (e.g., ClickHouse). Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively. Strong Plus Experience evaluating ML models. Nice to Have Experience with data pipelines for computer vision. Workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Dagster). Distributed frameworks (Apache Spark, Dask). Containerization (Docker). Compensation The estimated salary range is $124,227 - $157,001 annually, with benefits including health insurance, paid time off, holidays, 401(k), FSA, HSA, Airbus Employee Share Ownership Plan, flight training, and more.
