DNA Contracting is currently seeking an experienced and innovative Estimator/Assistant Project Manager who can work effectively on multiple projects in a highly collaborative and fast paced environment, and has the ability to meet goals and deliver a quality end product within the established project timeline and costs associated.

The ideal candidate requires a decisive individual who will hold him/her self and others accountable, all while demonstrating dedication to safety and quality, to maintain a strong customer relationship and client satisfaction.

Essential Functions:

  • Review construction drawings & specifications prior to walk through.
  • Conduct field visits or attend walk through with the sales rep of records approval. Take photos and notes of what is discussed and who has attended which will be kept on file in their digital folder.
  • Perform a full breakdown of the construction drawings & specifications and gather all material and data necessary to determine scope of work to organize a construction cost estimate.
  • Prepare and organize material takeoffs utilizing On-Screen Take Off (OST) software for accuracy and seamless transition to Project Management Team.
  • Obtain all necessary material quotes and or sub-contractor quotes to utilize for their prospective bid submission.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for residential, commercial and institutional projects, utilizing Sage Timberline Estimating software.
  • Enhance Architect, Engineer, Customer and Vendor relations.
  • Provide leadership to foster an environment of diversity and inclusion.

Education, Experience & Competencies:

  • 8+ years of experience working in an Estimator/Project Management role in building restoration.
  • In depth knowledge of the NYC construction market and NYC DOB Codes.
  • Expertise in faade repair, roof replacement, waterproofing, concrete repair and sidewalk vault restoration on residential, commercial and institutional projects.
  • Proven experience in landmark and historic preservation a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of production processes, means and methods, compliance, site safety and on-site requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Skilled in conflict and crisis management.
  • Proficient with CRM systems (Sage 300CRE, Procore, On-Screen Take Off), Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Project and/or other comparable software.

Work Environment:

This position operates in a professional office and jobsite setting. The position requires extensive client interfacing and requires rotation between remote and physical work environment. This position uses standard office equipment.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to maintain a stationary position, ascend/descend and traverse. The position also requires frequent use of computers and other office productivity machinery. At times, duties may involve transporting items of appx. 25 pounds and working around outdoor weather conditions. The position is expected to require prolonged periods of communication, perceiving, and expressing oneself.

Position Type:

This is a full-time position.

Travel:

80% local travel is expected for this position.
