The Opportunity

Join a dedicated team responsible for welcoming plasma donors at our collection center while ensuring their suitability for the plasma pheresis process.

You will work closely with the Assistant Center Manager.

The Role

• Assist qualified donors in completing the screening process per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This includes assessing self-administered health history, answering medical questions, referring to medical staff, and conducting health screening procedures like blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature checks.
• After appropriate training, educate new donors about the therapeutic products derived from donated plasma. This involves explaining the screening process, health tests performed, appointment systems, donation fees, center policies, proper nutrition, and answering all donor queries promptly and professionally.
• May register new and transfer donors based on training and operational needs.
• Handle phone calls, addressing inquiries or transferring calls to appropriate staff.
• Stay vigilant for any donor reactions during or after pheresis, notifying the appropriate personnel when necessary.
• Notify Group Leader or Supervisor regarding donor flow challenges.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor information in the electronic management system as per SOPs.
• Familiarize with hyperimmune program policies and procedures if applicable.
• Maintain a clean and efficient work environment, ensuring operating supplies and forms are adequately stocked. Follow all Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) protocols, promoting safety in all actions.
• Protect confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
• May receive cross-training in other areas to meet business needs.
• Bilingual skills may be beneficial based on organizational requirements.
• Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.

Your Skills and Experience

Education

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience

• At least three (3) months of experience in a clerical or customer service position, ideally in a medical or health-related setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic math skills are necessary.

Working Conditions

• Understand and apply both oral and written instructions effectively.
• Consistently follow guidelines and basic instructions.
• Ability to see and communicate with customers while observing equipment operations.
• Comfortable performing tasks while standing or walking for significant periods.
• Ability to reach, bend, kneel, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
• Occasional lifting and carrying of items up to 25 pounds may be required.
• Adaptable to a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
• Occasionally exposed to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and blood-borne pathogens.
• Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for specific tasks or in certain areas.
• Willingness to work overtime and extended hours based on center operational needs.
